walls

music: Matthew Robert Cooper - Miniatures 7

you can build walls all day long, but eventually they will crumble. and when that happens, everyone wants to take a piece.

and you figure the wall had a pretty good run. it wasn't like Berlin and you could never see it from beyond the atmosphere. besides, you never held a personal affinity for China.

even when you're dissembled, gravity assures that all of your paint chips, your supports and your bricks are going to fall down into a neat mess. it starts to get complicated when you let people take the pieces.

then you're being exchanged in shoddy ebay transactions, sold, sold like that slippery hooker on airways. your chips of bone and severed fingers are dealt as symbols of hope, in the hushed voices of drug dealers and enigmatic politicians.

you're too many yellowing puzzle pieces thrown into a holographic jigsaw box. there is nothing distinctive about you and their unpredictable images befuddle you into an acidic stupor.
